When I first started North Idaho Food Trucks, the goal was simple — help local food truck owners get found. In a region where word-of-mouth has always been the best marketing tool, I wanted to create something digital that still felt local — a way for people to discover their favorite food trucks without scrolling endlessly through social media or relying on chance encounters.
The Idea
It started with a few conversations around Sandpoint and Post Falls. Food truck owners kept saying the same thing: “We just need people to know where we are.”That’s when the idea clicked — what if there was one central place where every truck could be listed, schedules could be shared, and customers could find events in seconds? So I built it — a clean, easy-to-use platform that highlights trucks, menus, and events all in one place.
The Build
The site was designed from the ground up under my business, Great Escape Web & Business Services.I handled everything — the branding, layout, listings, and local SEO — to make sure that when someone searched “food trucks near me” in North Idaho, they’d land right where they should: at NorthIdahoFoodTrucks.com.
It wasn’t just about building a website — it was about building a network.I reached out to owners, photographed their trucks, and helped them write descriptions that told their story. Every truck has its own character — from the smoky BBQ setups in Post Falls to the family-run dessert stands in Sandpoint — and that personality needed to shine online.
The Launch
When the site went live, the feedback was immediate.Food truck owners appreciated how simple it was to get listed, and customers loved how easily they could find trucks nearby. We started adding featured listings, social media posts, and event highlights — giving local vendors a chance to grow their reach at an affordable cost.
As the directory expanded, the platform became more than just a website — it became a community connector. Now, trucks across the region use it to promote locations, and locals use it to plan their weekends and find their favorite meals.
The Impact
For me, this project was more than a web build — it was proof of what digital tools can do when built with local roots in mind.North Idaho Food Trucks now serves as a foundation for how I approach other local projects:make it simple, authentic, and built for the people who live here.
If you’re a food truck owner, a small business, or even just someone with an idea that needs a digital home — I can help you bring it to life. That’s what Great Escape Web & Business Services is all about — building real, practical websites that help local businesses grow.
